I’ve added a couple of more dates to the JAPAN TOUR 2015.  I’ll be playing in Yamagata on June 2 at one of the smallest, yet hippest jazz clubs in Japan, Jazz Octet with Koichi Yabori.  Here are some links to the venues as well as my musical collaborators: Yusuke Kono and Koichi Yabori.  If you’re in Japan, I hope to see you there!

Remembering Joe Killian

Stan KillianBlog

JoeKillianPianoIt was 2 years ago around this time that I lost my father, Joe Killian.  He was 86 years old and was a great inspiration to me.  His love of music and performing gave me a great sense of joy growing up.  In fact,  it was his mission to make everyone happy through music.  That’s a valuable lesson that I carry to this day.

Here’s a tune from the past that I’d like to share with everyone.

“Blues with Jimmy”

Jimmy Ford, alto saxophone; Joe Killian, Hammond organ; Ben Turner, drums

Recorded in Houston, TX 1965
