Here’s a video of a tune that has become our standard opener for all gigs, “Twin Dark Mirrors”. This was filmed a few weeks ago at Somethin Jazz in Manhattan
Dear Friends,
I’d like to invite you to a VERY special show. It’s the reunion of my original NYC quartet from 6 years ago. We recorded “Unified” and “Evoke” for Sunnyside Records, both of which were well received. The reunion show happens at The 55 Bar, Tuesday March, 10 with Benito Gonzalez, Fender Rhodes; Corcoran Holt, bass; and McClenty Hunter, drums. 7-9:15 no cover.
In the spirit of the reunion, I’ve been expanding the quartet’s book to include a few new originals that I hope to record as part of a new album this summer. Here are a few demo versions:
A Coltrane inspired ballad called “Ojos”.
A tune called “Birds of Prey” that I composed to honor Trane, Wayne and Joe Henderson
I thought of Chick Corea when I composed “Dream Waltz”
Hope to see you at the 55 Bar and thanks for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Stan Killian
